There is no health risk after 50,000-70,000 gallons of sewage leaked out of a broken sewer line Friday off Brighton Road, near the Oak Pointe Country Club in Genoa Township.
Severn Trent Services, which oversees sewer service in several Livingston County communities, said a 2-inch line extending from the 8-inch force main broke Friday evening, possibly due to the ground shifting due to recent fluctuations in temperatures.
The line, which has been repaired, runs to the Oak Pointe Country Club wastewater treatment plant, but the contractor said the state has indicated there is no health risk.
