Support for prostate cancer awareness

MP David Laws has pledged his support for Prostate Cancer Awareness Week which has been promoted by the Prostate Cancer Charity.

Prostate Cancer Awareness week has taken place in a bid to raise the spotlight of the disease and secure funds for further research.

The Prostate Cancer Charity has been distributing leaflets and supporting community initiatives which it hopes will encourage more men to have regular check-ups and recognise the signs of prostate cancer.

Mr Laws said: “Prostate Cancer can be fatal and sadly many men do not realise they are at risk or that they should be having regular check ups. Prostate Cancer Awareness Week is an excellent way of getting vital information on the disease to those groups at risk.

“The Prostate Cancer Charity has played a huge part in increasing the public’s awareness of prostate cancer through the distribution of leaflets and support for community initiatives.

“The Government now needs to broaden its national awareness campaign to make even more progress.”
