Ministry of Health called Sunday on Israeli government to immediately halt screening of all Palestinian passengers traveling through al-Karama crossing border, in the West Bank (WB), through using the controversial naked spy machine.
In a statement to WAFA, Minister Dr, Redwan al-Akhras said that the Israeli authorities’ act to force passengers come through al-Karama crossing border in the West Bank to go through the controversial machine, known technically as “Safe View Millimeter Wave Radar” is unjustified act.
“This machine is very dangerous and the Israeli authorities had used it in Rafah crossing border and several international Human Rights Organizations and Health Ministers Conference convened in Geneva in 2004 called for its dismantling and not operate it at crossings for its potential danger,” Dr. al-Akhras said.
The Minister appealed to international community and HR organizations to put an end to serious Israeli policies and compel the occupation not to check citizens with this harmful device.
Dr.al-Akhras held Israel responsible for the lives of citizens being forced to go through this machine as its radioactivity is very harmful.
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) in Gaza warned of the potential dangers of the “SafeView Millimeter Wave Radar” - an American made advanced portal using millimeter wave holographic technology to screen passengers for weapons and explosives,” according to manufacturing company. Israel had used such machine at Rafah crossing border and caused different diseases among passengers.
